Windsor and Welsh Stickback Chairs

I have undertaken private commissions to make traditional Windsor and Welsh Stickback style chairs for a good number of years. Each chair is different as I am able to include a particular design element that relates to the client. There are many examples of English and American Windsor Chairs for any client to choose from. I tend to use elm for the seat and ash for the rest of the chair but I have also used yew. I am embarking on making my own casein paints using ochre from local sources for colouring American Windsor’s in particular.
